XIX Internaitional Music Festival "Saint-Petersburg Palaces"
May 25 - June 29, 2011
In 1993 director and conductor of The Moscow Chamber Orchestra Constantine Orbelian founded the Music Festival «Saint-Petersburg Palaces».
Since 1997 Maria Safarianc, famous violin player, is an artistic director of International Music Festival “Saint-Petersburg Palaces”.
Recovery of music and cultural-historic traditions of Russia in brilliant apartments of palaces, and also new work premiers in participation of famous Russian and foreign musicians are the main ideas of the festival.
It’s almost 19 years that every year in “white nights” period doors of palaces, situated in the historical center of Saint-Petersburg and its suburbs, are opening for guests of this unique celebration, such as: The Hermitage theater, The Mariinsky, The Mikhaylovsky, The Yusupov, The Sheremetev, The Marble, The Menshikov, The Cathrine, The Pavlov, The Peterhof, and The Gatchina palaces…
World famous musicians, both foreign and Russian soloists and collectives are performing in these famous residences of Russian emperor family and old Russian aristocracy.
Programs of International Music Festival “Saint-Petersburg Palaces” are representing all diversity and refinement of St-Petersburg style. This year Festival is included in the Official Year of Italy in Russia 2011.
